CIMMYT builds impactful partnerships with governments, national agricultural research and extension systems, agricultural universities, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector to enhance global food and nutrition security, build resilient agri-food systems, and reduce poverty by improving the quantity, quality, and dependability of maize, wheat and dryland crops’ production systems, particularly in the Global South. CIMMYT and Wikifarmer are working together to strengthen agriculture and help youth engage in deeper and meaningful collaborations.
Wikifarmer is a global platform that aims to empower farmers by offering direct access to commercial markets where their products are sold at fair prices. Members share findings and seek practical advice for their projects and activities through online platforms.
CIMMYT and Wikifarmer reached an agreement to work together on promoting sustainable agricultural practices, knowledge dissemination, and youth empowerment in agriculture.
Under this framework, CIMMYT and Wikifarmer will:
- Invite each other to meetings, events, and conferences, and collaborate in the organization of national and international meetings, events, and conferences.
- Design and implement mutually beneficial projects, and enhance impact on areas of shared interest.
- Disseminate projects, events, information and news throughout websites, newsletters and social media.
This collaboration reaffirms a shared commitment to transforming agriculture and empowering youth.
