In a significant step towards addressing the escalating challenges of climate change, ICRISAT and CIMMYT reaffirmed their commitment to impactful collaboration during a leadership meeting in India on June 27, 2025. Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Director General of ICRISAT, and Dr. Bram Govaerts, Director General of CIMMYT, joined by senior leaders from both CGIAR centers, underscored the urgency of delivering scalable, science-driven solutions that empower smallholder farmers and build resilient food systems. This renewed alliance aims to strengthen shared research efforts, support the ICRISAT Center of Excellence for South-South Collaboration in Agriculture, and contribute to CGIAR’s global goals of ending hunger, reducing poverty, and safeguarding natural resources, embodying a unified vision for a productive, inclusive, and climate-resilient future.
