The primary objective of this project is to promote the use and conservation of adapted plant genetic resources for food and agriculture (PGRFA), contributing to increased agricultural productivity, improved on-farm incomes, greater availability of diverse and nutrient-rich foods, reduced environmental impact, and enhanced resilience to production shocks.
Specific Objectives
- Adapted PGRFA are managed and improved through participatory approaches involving farmers.
- Local value chains are strengthened to support the production, availability, and consumption of adapted PGRFA.
- Mechanisms for the exchange of PGRFA materials, data, and knowledge are reinforced to promote wider access and collaboration.
