CIMMYT expresses its deepest condolences to the family of Shahidul Islam following reports of his passing. The circumstances surrounding his death are currently under investigation by local authorities.
Mr. Islam was formerly employed by CIMMYT, where he worked until December 31, 2025. During his tenure, he served in agricultural development and research coordination roles, supporting project implementation, field-level coordination, capacity building, and partnership engagement in Bangladesh.
CIMMYT extends its sincere sympathies to his wife, children, and extended family, as well as to his former colleagues and community members who knew him. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.
