CGIAR at the FAO Science & Innovation Forum (side event)

October 14, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm CEST

Free

Already among the most vulnerable, small-scale farmers living in marginal agricultural areas in low- and middle-income countries face increasingly severe climate change impacts. Ranging from devastating plant pest and disease outbreaks to economic losses and unemployment, to investment uncertainties, these impacts exacerbate existing inequities.

CGIAR and partners are answering the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s call in its Sixth Assessment Report for a more radical transformative climate response that builds resilience and avoids maladaptation. In this event, titled Supporting small-scale farmer resilience with inclusive, transformative climate tools and policies, stakeholders from a variety of perspectives will explore the innovative, integrated, and inclusive tools and policies being developed in Kenya, the Philippines, and elsewhere.

This session, organized by the CGIAR Research Initiatives on Plant Health and on Climate Resilience, is an official side event of the FAO Science and Innovation Forum.

Registration is free for this virtual event, which will be held Friday, October 14, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. CEST.
