Víctor López is an expert in international cooperation and development with 15+ years of professional experience promoting action-oriented partnerships for sustainable agriculture and responsible trade. He is familiar with the UN system, multilateral agencies, government agencies, research institutions and the private sector.
Prior to joining CIMMYT in 2013, López worked for the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and the Spanish Ministry of Industry and Trade, among others organizations. Currently, he leads a portfolio of projects on Responsible Sourcing, contributing to more balanced agrifood systems and better livelihoods for farmers and local communities.
His areas of expertise include public-private partnerships, international trade, agribusiness strategy, agricultural marketing, local economic development, innovation, sustainability, and strategic communications.
