Lara Roeven is a research assistant in CIMMYT’s Gender and Social Inclusion Research Unit. She contributes to the analysis of data on gender and social injustice to address gaps and ensure the equitable adoption of agricultural technologies and practices.
The topics she works on include decision-making power, access to and control of productive assets and resources, and the adoption of technologies that reduce women’s labor. She is interested in researching how gender and social inclusion issues affect women and marginalized groups within the context of rural, environmental and climate change.
Roeven is trained in interdisciplinary social science, and holds a BSc in Politics, Psychology, Law, and Economics from the University of Amsterdam.
