Frédéric Baudron is a senior scientist and systems agronomist. He studies tradeoffs and synergies between the components of farming systems, chiefly at farm and landscape levels. This ranges from the assessment of crop-livestock interactions, to the consequences of labour constraints — with implications for mechanization — or interactions between agricultural productivity and biodiversity conservation.
During his seven years with CIMMYT, he has also developed an expertise in the sustainable intensification of African smallholder wheat systems. He has expertise in farming systems analysis, participatory innovation development, systems modeling and multi-criteria assessment of complex technologies.
