Dil Rahut has been working with CIMMYT since February 2013. He is Global Program Manager for both the Socioeconomics and Sustainable Intensification programs. A Bhutan native, he has a PhD in Development Economics from the University of Bonn, Germany, a Master’s degree in Economic Policy Management from University of Tsukuba, Japan, and an MBA (Finance) from L.N Mishra Institute, India.
Rahut has previously worked for the Research and Statistics Department of the Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan; the Centre for Development Research (ZEF), Germany, as junior researcher; WorldFish Centre as research fellow; and the Indian Council for Research in International Economic Relations (ICRIER) as Senior Fellow and Japan Chair. From 2008 to 2011, he worked as Chief of Research, Planning and Monitoring Department and Credit Card Project Director at the Bank of Bhutan. Prior to joining CIMMYT, he was Assistant Professor at South Asian University, New Delhi, India.
